Our training
As the representative body for the Bar of England and Wales, we're able to ensure that our team of specialist trainers are regularly updated regarding any developments that may impact the profession.
We're also able to guide them in their understanding of how the principles that they're teaching to barristers and chambers professionals on our behalf are most likely to apply in practice.
By regularly canvassing members of the profession as well as the Legal Practice Management Association and the Institute of Barristers’ Clerks for feedback, we are able to continually develop the Bar Council’s training portfolio and ensure it covers all aspects of compliance and professional standards, chambers management, practice management and development, and alternative dispute resolution.
The benefits of in-chambers training
By choosing to run an in-chambers course, your set will:
- run your training on a date, and at a location, of your choosing
- make significant cost savings as a result of lower ‘per person’ delegate rates and a lack of travel expenses
- benefit from a bespoke course tailored to your chambers’ governance structure, expertise and sectors, and existing policies and initiatives
- improve communication and collaboration across your chambers through the encouragement of greater teamwork, and the promotion of one another’s roles
The Bar Council offers open courses and courses delivered in-chambers for all training subjects. This means that if you're an individual wanting to attend a training course, you can find a course that is convenient for you or if you have a group wishing to be trained, we will come to you on a day that suits you.
