The Bar Council represents the public interest and the interests of the profession in a number of international forums, such as:

the International Bar Association,
-
the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe; and
-
the Commonwealth Lawyers Association of which it is a member, as well as
-
international institutions such as the European Union and the United Nations.
In developing its policies the Bar Council is always guided by its commitment to defending and developing the core values of our profession as set out in the Core Duties of the Code of Conduct and its commitment to the principles of the rule of law.
